Sberbank review

Overview of the Sberbank company

Current capitalization of the company is 3.9 trillion. RUB, latest reporting

In my portfolio there are 140 ordinary stocks (SBER) and 100 preferred stocks (SBERP), a total share of ~11% of the portfolio.

Over the last 5 years, Sberbank’s net profit has grown by an average of 27% per year. Dynamics of indicators 2019 to 2018: revenue – growth +9.5%, net profit – growth +1.5%. P/E = 4.4, PEG = 0.6, share price (SBER) = 192 RUB at the time of writing.

Predicted growth rates over the next 3-5 years: revenue +8-10% on average per year, net profit +7-8% on average per year.

Sberbank stocks are included in many indexes with a large weight, for example, 14.5% in the MICEX Index, so it makes sense to hold them if you generally believe in the long-term growth and development of the Russian economy. I consider buying stocks an ideal option for those who keep their savings on bank deposits for a long time. I think Sberbank will be the last company on the Russian market to which something could happen, so the reliability here is maximum, and at current prices only the dividend yield on ordinary stocks is above 10%, which is higher than the bank deposit rate, and this does not count the rise in the share price.

In my personal portfolio, I plan to keep Sberbank stocks as stabilization asset, the current share is planned to be reduced to 5-6%.

Conservative price forecast for the end of 2022: 270 RUB per 1 ordinary share (SBER) + ~50 RUB of dividend income for 3 years (including 13% tax), total = 128 RUB of net profit per 1 ordinary share = 67% of net profit for 3 years ~18% per annum. The forecast is an indicative price and does not act as a take profit. Probably, after reaching the target, I will hold stocks in the portfolio with a share of ~5%.
